Abstract

The present document was developed within the framework of the Professional Internship Curricular Unit, integrated into the 2nd cycle of the Master's Degree in Teaching Physical Education in Primary and Secondary Education at the Faculty of Sport of the University of Porto. This report reflects the journey undertaken over an academic year by a trainee teacher in a real teaching context, capturing the experiences, challenges, and learning outcomes achieved during the Supervised Teaching Practice. Throughout this path, knowledge acquired during academic training was applied and reconstructed through a practice characterized by constant reflection on pedagogical action. In this regard, the report seeks to highlight significant experiences, difficulties encountered, and strategies adopted to address the challenges of the school environment. Although the main intervention took place with a resident secondary education class, the training journey also included participation in diversified contexts, such as a shared class, School Sport, peer lesson observation among trainees, the organization of tournaments, and involvement in a solidarity campaign. The Supervised Teaching Practice thus constituted a space for discovery, growth, and professional development, where learning meant listening, reflecting, adapting, and acting with pedagogical intentionality. Throughout this process, the aim was to provide meaningful teaching-learning experiences, valuing not only the acquisition of content and motor skills but also the overall development of students as active participants in the educational process. In parallel, an investigation was carried out, developing a study modeled on action-research, adopting a quantitative, descriptive, and action-research methodological approach. However, at this stage, a predominantly quantitative aspect was prioritized, with the focus directed toward monitoring and analyzing instruction time in three lessons of a Football Didactic Unit.
