ENTRE O PLANEADO E O VIVIDO: APRENDER, ENSINAR E CRESCER NA EDUCAÇÃO FÍSICA

Abstract

This report is the record of a journey shaped between what was imagined and what was lived, where I discovered the true meaning of being a preservice teacher in the Master's in Physical Education Teaching at the Faculty of Sport of the University of Porto. In the real context of a secondary school in the municipality of Porto, I found in the 10th grade of the Professional Sports Technician course a challenge that, at first, made me doubt myself, but soon became an opportunity for growth. Through adaptations, achievements, and daily learning, I learned to understand my students, to adjust intentions, and to transform teaching into something meaningful for each of them. Theory gradually took shape in practice, supported by models such as Teaching Games for Understanding and Direct Instruction, which allowed me to adapt strategies, rhythms, and expectations to the real characteristics of the class. But the internship was not made only of lessons. It was built through community, creativity, and a sense of belonging. I had the privilege of actively participating in school life: I created a dance that brought together all the schools in the cluster during a shared walk, which turned into a flashmob at each stop; I collaborated in the Pink October activity, designing another choreography to celebrate and raise awareness of this important day, especially among teachers and school staff; I contributed to the "Active School" event, where students were able to try different athletics disciplines; and, together with my cooperating teacher and the internship team, I designed a poster to promote our Combat Sports Week, an initiative that allowed students to experience modalities not commonly explored within Physical Education classes. Between the planned and the lived, I discovered that teaching means learning continuously, growing alongside others, transforming challenges into opportunities, and moments into memories. This report is, therefore, more than a reflection of a school placement: it is the testimony of a human, intense, and transformative experience that shaped my path as a future teacher and reaffirmed the passion that brought me here.
