Entre Desafios e Aprendizagens: A Construção da Identidade Docente em Educação Física

Abstract

This School Placement report, prepared within the scope of the Master's Degree in Physical Education Teaching in Basic and Secondary Education, has as its main objective to share and reflect on the personal and professional path developed throughout the school placement, carried out in a secondary school located in the municipality of Porto. This work entitled Between Challenges and Learning: The development of Teacher Identity in Physical Education, seeks to make known the experience lived as a preservice teacher, who had the opportunity to assume the role of teacher, putting into practice the knowledge and skills acquired throughout his academic training. In addition to describing the teaching-learning process, this report also aims to highlight the main learnings, challenges and moments that marked this very important stage of teacher training. The first chapter, dedicated to the personal framework, presents the preservice teacher´s path of the academic and sports, as well as the motivations and expectations that have accompanied him since the beginning of the internship. The second chapter, corresponding to the institutional framework, characterizes the school context where the internship took place, the internship nucleus and the resident classes, highlighting their particularities and their own dynamics. The chapter on the operational framework describes the entire process of planning, teaching, evaluation, reflection of the classes taught, and teaching models applied. In the chapter referring to involvement with the educational community, it highlights the active participation of the preservice teacher in the activities promoted by the school and the importance of integration in its environment. To understand the influence of teacher profile on student motivation in physical education classes, a quantitative investigation was developed, presented in the chapter Area of Personal and Professional Development. Finally, in the chapter Conclusions and Critical Reflection, a critical reflection is made of the entire process developed throughout the school placement.
