| Issue Date: | 2026-07-13 |
| Abstract: | This school placement report, developed within the scope of the Master's Degree in Teaching Physical Education in Basic and Secondary Education at the Faculty of Sport of the University of Porto, results from a journey marked by learning experiences, challenges, and reflections developed throughout the school placement, carried out in a secondary school in the municipality of Penafiel. This document aims to give voice to the experiences lived, describing and analysing the professional and personal development of the student teacher during the training process. Entitled It Is Never Too Late: A New Journey of Learning and Professional Growth, the report reflects the path undertaken throughout the internship, a period during which the student teacher progressively and responsibly assumed the role of a teacher, applying in practice the knowledge acquired throughout their academic training, in constant interaction with the realities of the school context. In parallel, a case study was developed within the scope of the FITescola programme, focusing on the assessment of students' flexibility before and after the implementation of a set of specific exercises, with the aim of analysing the programme's impact on improving physical fitness. The report includes a critical reflection on the difficulties encountered, the strategies adopted, and the learning achieved, highlighting the contribution of the school placement to the development of pedagogical competences, the consolidation of professional teaching identity, and the recognition of the importance of Physical Education as a subject that promotes the holistic development of students. |
