Relatório de Estágio realizado na equipa de futebol masculino Sub-15 do Grupo Desportivo Estoril Praia, na época desportiva 2024/25

Abstract

In the 2024/25 season, I had the opportunity to follow the U15 team of Grupo Desportivo Estoril Praia and to spend time with other coaches and staff members at the Centro de Treino e Formação Desportiva, one of the most acclaimed training centers in Lisbon and Portugal. Despite this, I faced problems that I didn't think existed in a training context with so much reputation and that are common to many other clubs in the district of Lisbon and in the rest of the country, which I reflect on throughout the report. However, being in a context like this, regardless of the structural and organizational flaws, allowed me to be close to the best players of their respective generations, whether they played for our club or our opponents, and to be involved in games and competitions of the highest category in the level in which I was inserted. My main goal for this year was to continue my learning curve in practice, but with a more direct participation (than I had in my first internship) in all the sessions (planning, analysis, practice, games, etc.), with the aim of establishing myself as someone who couldn't be dispensable. Another way to learn would be to have direct contact with top professionals, but I left this internship somewhat disappointed for not having the opportunity to work with people who changed my way of thinking. Perhaps because of the low salaries or because the best professionals were funneled to the country's top clubs, namely Sport Lisboa e Benfica and Sporting Clube de Portugal, which are from the region, I "shared changing rooms" with good coaches and professionals, but not at the level I had idealized.
