Gestão do Desporto Municipal: Estágio Profissionalizante na Câmara Municipal de Gondomar

Abstract

Sports practice is essential to human beings, one of the activities of society that unites people and moves crowds. This report intends to present the work developed and carried out during the internship period at the Municipality of Gondomar, more specifically in the sports department, all the functions performed in different areas in the sports management as well as the collaboration in the communication department. Participation in these two areas and the holding of various public events, raised awareness about issues related to public management. The main objective of this internship was the acquisition of new knowledge and skills in the area of municipal management and management of sports facilities, as well as putting into practice in the real context the knowledge and theoretical tools acquired throughout the academic path. Planning the occupation of municipal sports facilities, characterization of sports facilities, scheduling the use of premises, events meetings, events themselves, administrative tasks, the practice of sporting and non-sporting events were tasks carried out throughout the internship. All the tasks performed and reported are important for good management, especially the administrative part, and with this internship I realized how important this function is. There are several partnerships so that events / competitions can be effectively accomplished, always contributing to the development of the municipality. All the processes and steps described helped to meet my goals, and led to a great evolution at a personal level. In addition, carrying out the case study, allowed the acquisition of knowledge in the area of quality and customer satisfaction of public service, more precisely in the area of municipal swimming pools. However, due to the pandemic, it was not possible to complete the study that aimed at improving the practice of management in water-sports activities.
