Title: Análise Biomecânica da Corrida em Invisuais e Normovisuais
Issue Date: 2020-12-11
Abstract: Visual impairment refers to impaired vision, even when corrected, and can be classified in some ways that vary according to each person's limitations. A normovisual person responds to environmental stimuli with more spontaneous motor development than a blind person, whereas a person with visual impairment has incomplete motor development and lower levels of physical fitness. Some of these characteristics are found in laterality deficiency, lack of balance, restricted mobility, orientation, and postural alignment. Thus, this study aims, through biomechanics, to compare, analyze and verify the kinetic and kinematic changes between blind and sighted people. Four blind and five non-blind, aged 19-64 years, were evaluated under the same laboratory conditions. Running was analyzed through the range of movement of the limbs, the ground reaction force, and the support times, through the Qualisys Track Manager program, using 12 Oqus cameras and one instrumented treadmill with 2 force platforms. There was a shorter cycle time in the blind, eventually affecting other parameters. In terms of range of motion, it was found that some parameters for the blind were affected due to the lateral support with the hand they needed during the race. It was found that, in terms of ground reaction forces, the blinds present greater peaks in the horizontal component during braking after the foot impacts the ground, but there are no differences in the vertical component.
