Caracterização do Sistema Ofensivo no Campeonato Português de Andebol Masculino Estudo realizado com as seis equipas do Grupo A na época 18/19

Abstract

The present study has as fundamental objectives, (i) to characterize the offensive process in High Performance Handball in Portugal, through the frequency and effectiveness of the actions of the teams, and (ii) to identify the factors that explain different levels of performance. To perform the work, the Observational Methodology was used, and the descriptive analysis was made using frequency and percentage measures. To differentiate the teams, the T-Test was used for independent measures, the Anova for independent groups and the discriminant function analysis. The study sample includes a total of 5.653 offensive sequences, which led to 3.323 attacks, resulting from the analysis of the 30 games played in Group A, the National Handball Championship 1 2018/2019, male seniors. From the results obtained, it is possible to highlight the following conclusions: 1) during the offensive process teams end their attacks more often during the "system attack" phase; 2) the F.C Porto team stood out for using, in situations of absolute numerical equality 7x7, the organization of the attack with 7 attackers, obtaining higher values both in the frequency of use and in the effectiveness obtained, when compared with the other five teams; 3) the indicators with greater magnitude, to differentiate the winning teams from the defeated teams were: the effectiveness of the attack and the effectiveness of the shot; 4) in the attack in absolute numerical inferiority, the victorious teams choose more often for the attack with the empty goal, using an organization with 6 attackers; 5) for shots made in the "system attack" phase, the indicators that best discriminate against the winning teams of the defeated are: (i) higher percentage of shots from the wings and lower percentage in the 9M shots; (ii) the highest effectiveness of 9M shooting; (iii) more goals scored in the area of the wings.
