Abstract

The present text outlines the cooperation between the Fa culties of Letters of the University of Porto and the "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University of Iasi, tracing it from the origin of the first agreement that enabled mobility between the two institutions and focusing specifically on mobility flows and their outcomes. Between the academic years 2004-2005 and 2024-2025, twenty years of collaboration have elapsed in a discontinuous and irregular manner. From 2011 onwards, however, the partnership gradually regained momentum and greater consistency, becoming firmly consoli - dated in the 2013-2014 academic year - initially, in the field of literature, and later in the teaching and learning of Portuguese as a foreign language. This fruitful period of collaboration reached its peak in the current academic year 2024-2025 with the inauguration of the Portuguese Language Center of the Camões Institute for Co ope r ation and Language and the establishment of a lectureship in Portuguese.
