Construindo Competências: A Viagem de um Estagiário em Educação Física

Abstract

This document was prepared within the framework of the Professional Internship course unit, integrated in the 2nd Cycle of Studies leading to the Master's degree in Physical Education Teaching in Basic and Secondary Education at the Faculty of Sport, University of Porto. This report describes the experience developed throughout the 2024/2025 academic year during the Supervised Teaching Practice, carried out at cooperanting school, and reflects the training and learning path of a preservice Physical Education teacher. The report is structured into three main chapters: personal framework, which presents the trajectory, expectations, and motivations that marked the beginning of the internship; institutional framework, which characterizes the school, the Physical Education department, the Internship Group, and the classes accompanied; and professional practice, divided into three areas. The first focuses on the organization and management of teaching and learning, highlighting the planning, implementation, and assessment of teaching units. The second addresses participation in school life and the relationship with the community, including the organization of events and projects, as well as involvement in School Sport. The third concerns professional development, where the research study developed during the internship is presented. The report begins with an introduction and concludes with final considerations and future perspectives, summarizing the main learnings, challenges faced, and skills developed, while also reflecting on the contribution of this experience to future teaching practice and professional activity in the field of sports training.
