A Cidade Filmada: Entre a cidade construída pelo cinema e a cidade vivida

Abstract

This dissertation proposes a critical analysis of the cinematographic strategies used in the representation of four cities, contrasting the filmed city with the lived city. The central objective is to analyze the process of transposing real urban space into film narrative, identifying which architectural and urban elements are highlighted, suppressed or transformed. Through a comparative analysis, the study investigates how these aesthetic and narrative choices shape a specific perception of each city, contributing to its collective image. The work thus establishes a critical dialogue between the materiality of the city and its representation, analyzing the convergences and divergences that characterize this dynamic. The conclusions aim to deepen the understanding of the power of cinema as a mediator of the urban experience and a producer of cultural and spatial meaning.
