| Abstract: | Within an urban context marked by population ageing, climate urgency, and the growing precariousness of access to housing, this dissertation explores how multifamily housing can materialize solutions that respond to these challenges, taking as its case of study three projects developed by the Lacol Architectural Cooperative. The research is structured around three key thematic axes: population ageing, well-being, and energy efficiency, further developed through the lenses of accessibility and adaptability; programme and interior-exterior spatial relationships; and bioclimatic systems combined with complementary technologies. These themes guide the comparative analysis of La Balma (2017-2021), Sotrac (2020-ongoing), and La Raval (2017-2024). Based primarily on graphic and documentary material, the analysis identifies spatial, programmatic, and constructive strategies that contribute to addressing residents' needs, counteracting social isolation, and implementing environmentally sustainable practices. The results highlight that architecture can operate as an instrument of social and environmental transformation by organizing spaces, suggesting uses, and shaping dynamics of coexistence, thereby playing a decisive role in the relationship between people and the places they inhabit. Therefore, this dissertation contributes to the field of multifamily housing by offering significant references for the development of projects aimed at enhancing quality of life and ensuring long-term sustainability. |
| Description: | Num contexto urbano caracterizado pelo envelhecimento da população, pela urgência climática e pela crescente precarização do acesso à habitação, a presente dissertação aprofunda de que forma a habitação plurifamiliar consegue materializar soluções que respondam a estas questões, tomando como objeto de estudo três obras desenvolvidas pelos Lacol Arquitectura Cooperativa. A investigação estrutura-se em torno de três eixos fundamentais: envelhecimento populacional, bem-estar e eficiência energética, que se desdobram, respetivamente, em acessibilidade e adaptabilidade, programa e dispositivos de relação interior/exterior; e sistemas bioclimáticos e equipamentos complementares. Estes temas orientam a análise comparativa das obras La Balma (2017-2021), Sotrac (2020-em curso) e La Raval (2017-2024). A análise comparativa baseia-se, sobretudo, em material gráfico e documental, permitindo identificar estratégias espaciais, programáticas e construtivas que contribuem para responder às necessidades dos habitantes, combater o isolamento social e implementar práticas ambientalmente sustentáveis. Os resultados evidenciam que a arquitetura pode atuar como um instrumento de transformação social e ambiental, ao organizar os espaços, sugerir usos e moldar dinâmicas de convivência, intervindo assim de forma decisiva na relação entre as pessoas e o lugar que habitam. Esta dissertação contribui, assim, para a reflexão sobre a habitação plurifamiliar contemporânea, propondo referências significativas para o desenvolvimento de projetos orientados para a qualidade de vida e a sustentabilidade ambiental a longo prazo |
