De Dentro para Fora: Entre Emoções, Desafios e Aprendizagens de um Estudante-Estagiário

Abstract

This Professional Internship Report is part of the Master's in Physical Education Teaching in Basic and Secondary Education, developed at the Faculty of Sport of the University of Porto. It represents the culmination of a stage marked by challenges, achievements, and learnings that shaped the journey of a student-intern transitioning into teaching. Inspired by the movie Inside Out, the report draws an analogy between the emotions experienced during the internship and my growth. Much like the characters who symbolize different emotions, the teaching experience was also marked by different emotions, all of which were essential in building meaning and identity. This emotional perspective became not only a way to reflect on the journey but also a metaphor for the richness and complexity of educational practice. For me, the Professional Internship represented a process of true immersion in the school reality. This transition highlighted the constant need for adaptation and for a careful selection of what could move from the theoretical plan to the school reality. The structure of the document follows this journey, starting with the contexts. Subsequently, I present the chapters that reflect the teaching practice itself, highlighting experiences, obstacles, and significant learnings that marked my growth. This path was important to me and was always based on the gradual construction of a professional identity, a dimension that runs through the entire report and which I consider fundamental in a teacher's training. Finally, the developed research project is highlighted, focused on the Mixed Planning or Distributed Practice Model, analyzed from the students' perception. This investigation sought to contribute to the debate on more effective and inclusive teaching practices in Physical Education.
