Estágio Profissional: O Entrelaçar da Vida de Atleta com a Prática Docente

Abstract

The present document, entitled Internship Report, was developed in the context of the Curricular Unit of the Professional Internship, integrated in the 2nd Cycle of studies leading to the Master's degree in Teaching Physical Education in Basic and Secondary Education, at the Faculty of Sport of the University of Porto. During one school year, the supervised teaching practice was carried out, in which the knowledge acquired in the initial training was put into practice in a real teaching context, thus initiating the professional training of the student intern. The present Internship Report aims to show how the experiences lived throughout the internship shaped my life both professionally, as well as personally and socially, making frequent comparisons with my life as a federated athlete and with the search to know who I really am beyond that. It is, therefore, also a reflection on my pedagogical practice, where I identify strengths and areas for improvement for my future as a Physical Education teacher. This document is divided into six chapters, from the introduction to the conclusion of the pedagogical practice, encompassing all the learning acquired in each of the different topics. In short, it will address the pedagogical approaches and strategies used, the activities carried out, the difficulties encountered and the proposed strategies, the system of evaluation and monitoring of the work developed, the problems investigated in the defined performance areas, and, finally, the conclusions and future perspectives. The Internship Report thus stands as the conclusion of the achievement of a dream - to be a Physical Education teacher - which translates into the fantastic journey of searching for my professional and personal identity
