O grande desafio de uma Relação Professor e Aluno: Experiência de lecionação nos Ensinos Básico e Secundário

Abstract

This document was prepared within the scope of the Professional Internship curricular unit, as part of the second year of the Master's Degree in Physical Education Teaching in Basic and Secondary Education at the Faculty of Sport of the University of Porto. The internship took place at Escola Secundária das Laranjeiras, located in Ponta Delgada, on São Miguel Island, under a specific model implemented in the Autonomous Region of the Azores, which assigned full teaching responsibilities and a remunerated position to the trainee. This unique experience enabled an intense and realistic professional engagement, bringing the trainee closer to the everyday reality of teaching practice. The report is structured into four main parts: the general framework, which presents the legal, institutional, and personal context of the internship; the professional practice component, which describes the activities developed in the areas of teaching and learning management, school participation, and professional development; the action-research project, which analyses the perception of the teacher-student relationship and its effects on the educational process; and the final reflections, which focus on the lived experience and the consolidation of a professional identity.This Professional Internship represented a key stage in teacher education, allowing for direct contact with the reality of the profession, the confrontation with various challenges, and the application of acquired knowledge. It was, without a doubt, a deeply transformative experience in both my personal and professional growth as a future Physical Education teacher.
