| Title: | Em prol da utilidade e autonomia: o ensino para surdos no Brasil nos anos 30 |

| Abstract: | The historiography about the education for the Deaf in Brazil reveals that educational projects have advocated different paths for the social inclusion of these individuals. Among them, the labor was considered by many educators as the means by which the Deaf could obtain their financial autonomy and could be integrated as a useful member of society. In this context, this research aimed to analyze how the pedagogical proposals for the Deaf were organized in the Brazilian context in the 1930s and how the labor was consolidated as one of the main objectives of this education. The work is contextualized in the field of Linguistic Historiography and is a bibliographic and documentary research. Among the results obtained, it is observed that the educational proposal for the Deaf was summarized to teaching a form of communication and a profession to provide their rapid inclusion in the labor market, so that they could be productive for society. |
| Description: | historiografia da educação de surdos no Brasil nos revela que os projetos educativos defenderam diferentes caminhos para a inclusão social desses indivíduos. Entre eles, destaca-se o trabalho, concebido historicamente como meio pelo qual o surdo conseguiria se integrar como um sujeito útil à sociedade. Nesse contexto, a presente pesquisa visou analisar como se organizam as propostas pedagógicas para surdos no Brasil nos anos 30 e de que forma a aprendizagem de ofícios para a inserção do surdo ao mercado se consolidou como um dos principais objetivos desse ensino. A pesquisa contextualiza-se no campo da Historiografia Linguística e trata-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica e documental. Entre os resultados obtidos, observa-se que a proposta educativa para surdos se resumiu ao ensino de uma forma de comunicação e de um ofício para fornecer meios para a rápida inclusão desse alunado no mercado, de modo que eles fossem produtivos para a sociedade. |
