Märkli. A construção do habitar coletivo

Abstract

The premise for this analysis arises from an attempt to get closer to the condition of contemporary architecture. Objectively, the practice of architect Peter Märkli is understood as a hypothesis for a project of resistance to the adverse conditions that affect architecture. In this way, we draw on various theoretical contributions to develop an architectural discourse that allows us to understand the case studies. An analysis is made on the relevance of design and practice as agents for transforming the public condition. In this sense, Märkli's experimental methodology is studied, and through its analysis we reflect on the notion of type as a methodological tool that allows the discipline to evolve. Märkli's collective housing buildings are thus analyzed as an integral part of an urban system in constant transformation. This analysis tries to understand how contemporary themes are reflected in the projects and how they evolve, crossing theory with practice. Finally, we reflect on the emancipation of inhabitants through the appropriation of spaces, and on the responsibility of architects to encourage a plurality of uses in the spaces where they intervene. The aim is to create space for reflection on Peter Märkli's practice, particularly in its political and social spectrum, reinforcing its importance in contemporary times.
