Acessibilidade como Ponto de Partida da Humanização do Projeto. Existência, Espaço e Arquitetura

Abstract

This dissertation is designed as an essay based on the personal testimony of family experiences related to motor disability and the journey made over the last five years in the architecture course, which motivates the theme of accessibility. As a response to recognising each individual's difference, it awakens the experience of space as a tool innate to every human being, which must be enhanced in a way that is as plural as human diversity. Through the permanent questioning of the unbreakable relationship between existence and space, the transformation of a project idea is undertaken, according to a participatory dynamic that allows the contribution and sensitisation of architecture students and professionals, people with some kind of physical or other limitation or disability, as well as those familiar with and curious about the subject of accessibility. Therefore, it is proposed that accessibility be understood as an identity and awareness-raising element of architecture, capable of promoting the integration of existential and spatial diversity as a starting point for the humanisation of the project itself.
