Relatório de Estágio Profissionalizante no escalão de Sub-15 de futebol masculino do Gondomar Sport Clube, na época desportiva 2023/2024

Abstract

This report was conducted as part of the 2nd Cycle in Sports Training, with a specialization in youth coaching, at the Faculty of Sports, University of Porto, in the U-15 football team of Gondomar Sport Club during the 2023/2024 season. As an intern coach, I was one of those responsible for leading the team. I aimed to guide my work based on the principles of development, creativity, and talent, while understanding and respecting the specific characteristics of the team, the club, the region, and the national context. Throughout this report, I discuss youth football, the development of creativity and talent in young athletes, and the context in which the practice took place. I provide a detailed description of how I organized the team tactically, promoted greater active participation from the players in training and games, and utilized the resources available at the club to achieve the set goals. Additionally, I present comparative reflections on the state of the team and my own development before and after the internship, analyzing the progress made both in sporting and pedagogical terms. At the end of the internship, a positive assessment can be made. By the end of the season, I observed that the players had shown greater creative ability and autonomy in decision-making during unpredictable game situations, moving beyond the direct instructions of the coach and applying critical thinking adapted to the dynamics of the field. This experience not only helped me improve my technical and pedagogical skills but also made me a more prepared and confident coach for future challenges in sports training.
