(A)mar para ensinar: a rota nunca dantes navegada

Abstract

This document was made as part of the Professional Internship Curricular Unit, which is part of the 2nd Cycle of Studies that leads to the Master's degree in Teaching Physical Education in Primary and Secondary Education at the Faculty of Sports of the University of Porto. Thus, this report contains the experience lived throughout the 2023/2024 school year, in Supervised Teaching Practice, at Escola Secundária da Senhora da Hora, under the reflective eye of a trainee teacher. The document is divided into three main chapters: personal background, institutional background and professional practice, the latter of which is divided into three areas: the first refers to embarking on the organization and management of teaching and learning, the second corresponds to immersing oneself in the experiences of the school and relations with the community and, finally, the third concerns Professional Development: Beyond (A)mar where a scientific research study entitled "Inclusion of students with disabilities in Physical Education classes" is presented. It begins with a brief introduction and ends with final considerations and future prospects. It is also important to note that this report is based on a metaphor alluding to the sea, where tide by tide, there is an integral development of the girl who embarked on this journey to discover the profession, what it is like to be a Physical Education teacher, with risks and challenges to uncover, which further triggered the constant search, reflection and experimentation of each learning experience that became the essence of the luggage throughout the academic journey in a first experience of those who, by going back and forth, like the waves of the sea, built the luggage and the memory of their Professional Internship.
