Abstract

Over the past twenty years, artificial intelligence (AI) has established itself as a driving force in the technological transformation of society, profoundly impacting architectural practice. Initially, the dissertation presents a detailed introduction to the concept of AI, tracing its historical evolution and its role across various fields. It then examines the contemporary application of AI in architecture, highlighting its main challenges and limitations, as well as the ethical issues that arise with the adoption of these technologies. Based on practical examples and case studies, the dissertation demonstrates how AI can enhance the architectural process, from generating multiple design options and automating repetitive tasks to optimizing resources through BIM and real-time data analysis. It also explores the use of AI in scenario simulation and project communication, underscoring its ability to promote greater efficiency and sustainability. Finally, the dissertation offers a reflection on the future of architecture in a context increasingly influenced by AI, emphasizing the need for adaptation, innovation, and continuous learning for professionals and students in the field.
