A jornada de desenvolvimento profissional e pessoal de um professor de Educação Física: Para um ensino e aprendizagem mais centrados no aluno

Abstract

The Professional School Practicum falls within the scope of the 2nd year of the Master's Degree in Physical Education Teaching, at the University of Porto. This report describes a profoundly transformative and enriching experience in the training of future Physical Education teachers. From the motivating introduction, which highlights personal and professional growth over the years until reaching the teaching master's degree, the constant adaptations faced in the context of pedagogical practice and the immense unpredictability during the academic year, the document reflects a journey of continuous learning. Structured into three main areas, the report begins with the preservice teatcher´s and institutional background, followed by area 1 with a detailed analysis of the organization and management of teaching-learning. This includes the design of Physical Education, the strategies to be adopted regarding meticulous pedagogical planning, the implementation of innovative student-centered teaching practices and a reflective evaluation of the strategies adopted. Area 2 reflects the importance of active participation in the school and in the educational community, emerging as a crucial component, evidenced by activities such as the Xico Inter Classes Olympics open week and projects, namely the Health and Wellbeing Project. In area 3, there is professional development focused on promoting equity in students' practice time, contributing to an inclusive and diverse approach to teaching Physical Education. The report concludes with final considerations that not only recap the significant impact of the internship, but also explore future perspectives amidst a scenario of uncertainty, highlighting the importance of continuous reflection and professional development throughout the teaching career.
