| Abstract: | This article examines the invisibility of women in the artistic and musical field through a case study of Ondina Pires. Pires, known for her work on projects within the Portuguese underground context, exemplifies the ongoing marginalization despite resistance strategies. The analysis draws on life narratives and qualitative methods to understand gender inequalities, exclusion, and practices of contestation. At the core of the article, it interrogates the factors that perpetuate female invisibility in the arts, highlighting the need to reassess women's emancipation in contemporary culture |
