| dc.description.abstract | The Information Age or Digital Era in which we are immersed demands continuous and rigorous reflection on the implications across various professional activities, evaluating the impact through transformations and the elimination of multiple existing professions. In this context, it becomes urgent to look at the field of documentation and information, revisiting the 2000 Code of Ethics promoted by organizations such as BAD, APDIS, INCITE, and CFB in the case of Brazil, and to acknowledge that the evolution of the field requires an alignment with codes applicable to professionals working technologically with information. Hence, this article is a proposal aimed at merging into a single code of ethics the duties of a synthetic professional: the information manager, heir to a significant legacy (embodied by the actions of librarians, archivists, and documentalists) and capable of integrating with current and future technicians and computer scientists. | |
