Abstract

This document, entitled School Placement, is part of the syllabus for the second year of the Master's Degree in Teaching of Physical Education in Primary and Secondary Education. It constitutes an essential requirement for obtaining the Master's degree, and aims to describe and analyze the trainee's path throughout the school placement. The fundamental purpose of supervised teaching practice is to give trainees the opportunity to gain practical experience in the field of teaching physical education. During this process, the trainee is guided by two competent professionals, a collaborating teacher from the school and a supervising teacher from the Faculty. This report presents the experiences, challenges, obstacles and lessons learned by a student intern, the author, during his school placement over the course of a year. The trainee reflected on his identity and relationship with physical activity, highlighting the evolution of his expectations and the initial impact of the school placement. This period was fundamental to understanding personal and professional transformations. The trainee developed and implemented detailed lesson plans, adapted to the specific needs of the students, including the resident class, the shared class and special education. Various teaching models and assessment methods were used, as well as participation in extracurricular activities. Throughout the school placement, skills were acquired in dealing with competition and exclusion, as well as implementing strategies to motivate all students. The experience allowed me to face challenges and learn valuable lessons, promoting the formation of an effective and inclusive Physical Education teacher.
