Title: Measurement of effectiveness in open and distance learning
Issue Date: 1998
Abstract: Some Open and Distance Learning (ODL) initiatives are created as a replacement for face-to-face tutorials and treated as the primary teaching medium. Others are accomplished for purposes relating to student access to learning centers and as complimentary learning tools. Most attempts to implement ODL courses in educational settings have added them on to already existing course materials rather than revising course structure and content. To address the issue of different learning styles of the engineering population and to adapt the ODL materials a survey was carried out and some measurements were made to assess the effectiveness of the proposed products.
