O verdadeiro desafio do professor de Educação Física: Fidelizar os alunos à atividade física

Abstract

This internship report was written as part of the professional internship, which is part of the Master's programme in Teaching Physical Education in Primary and Secondary Schools at the Faculty of Sport of the University of Porto. The professional internship took place over ten months in 11th and 6th grade classes. This document seeks to report on all the activities of a student trainee over the course of a school year of Supervised Internship Practice. From the operational side, with the elaboration of the other planning levels, the various dimensions of the pedagogical intervention, to the involvement with the school community, as well as the institutional framework. In addition, carrying out the research in a teaching context allowed me to realise that the word impossible doesn't exist, and that regardless of the profile of the students in the classes, we can indeed make a difference, helping students to become more physically active. Observation and reflective practice were fundamental components throughout the process, which allowed my practices to evolve positively. The real-life context that this Professional Internship gave me was fundamental in the transition from student to teacher, allowing me to apply knowledge already acquired, to get things right, to make mistakes, but above all, to develop as a future Physical Education teacher and builder of a better society.
