Abstract

Two topics define this work. A concept and an architect. Through the concept, questions and curiosities arise naturally. Practice will play the role of helping us to decode them, clarify them and thus address the initial problem, colour. It would probably be impossible to develop a work within the scope of a master's thesis, on the theme of color in architecture, without resorting to a support that gives us examples and creates a guiding thread, in this case a narrative. The use of Le Corbusier which converges us in a practical and theoretical narrative, has a dominant role in this work, more than the study of color, it is an opportunity to study the work of an author from a different perspective, with the great possibility of extending the restricted field of this architect to architecture in general, setting aside differences in periods, styles or types. The use of color inside and outside the world of architecture is a phenomenon studied but little consolidated in its theoretical scope and consequently in the practical scope. It is this paradox that provokes the following dissertation, with the evident recourse to bibliographic bases, a free, subjective structure with a critical purpose has never been abandoned. More than a topic already discussed, it is curiosity, relevance, as well as the desire to draw new conclusions and demystify a range of concerns so common to architecture students, who are always looking for the truth and the reason for reality. Color is a big part of that reality.
