Abstract

This report is a document that arises within the scope of the Professional Internship, belonging to the study plan of the second year of the Master's Degree in Physical Education Teaching in Basic and Secondary Education of the Faculty of Sport of the University of Porto. Here will be reported all the activities carried out by the student-intern throughout the school year, with the help of a cooperating teacher from the Basic and Secondary School of Madalena (Pico Island - Azores), and the preparation of the Internship Report was accompanied and guided by a supervising professor from the Faculty of Sport of the University of Porto. This report will express the experiences, challenges and decisions taken by the sturdent-intern according to the school environment in which he was present, coexisting the practical action and the theoretical plan. The document is structured in six distinct chapters, being the following: (1) Introduction: contextualisation of the document; (2) Personal Framework: self-biography of the student-trainee and the reason for choosing to enter the Master of Physical Education Teaching in Basic and Secondary Education; (3) Framework of Professional Practice: presenting a legal, functional and institutional characterisation of the professional practice; (4) Realisation of the Professional Practice: where all the activities carried out throughout the school year will be described, being grouped into three different areas of performance, Area 1 - Organisation and Management of Teaching and Learning, Area 2 - Participation in School and Relationship with the Community, and Area 3 - Professional Development; (5) Action Research Study: study carried out with the resident classes of the student-intern entitled "The Impact of the Pandemic on the Motor Development of Students and What are the Consequences for Physical Education"; (6) Conclusion: where the final opinions of the student-intern regarding the realisation of the Professional Internship and the expectations for the future in relation to professional practice as a Physical Education teacher will be described.
