Abstract

This internship report describes the experience lived at EB2/3 de Lamaçães, in Braga, during the period from September 6, 2022 to June 22, 2023. The internship provided an immersion in the reality of the field of work, offering an understanding of the challenges and requirements faced by professionals in the field. The report follows the following structure: introduction, personal and institutional background, organization and management of teaching and learning, participation in the school and relationship with the community, professional development and conclusion. The challenge of teaching a class with a large number of foreign students stands out, requiring adapted communication strategies and repetition of information. The low attendance of the students also required constant adaptations during classes. In addition, the disparity of abilities and gender in the class brought additional challenges, especially in team sports activities. Measures such as modifying rules, encouraging everyone to participate and organizing teams by levels were adopted. The cohesion between the internship core and the cooperating teacher was fundamental for personal and professional development. Mutual observations and the teacher's guidance provided valuable learning. The cooperating teacher's ability to control and concern for the students' personal formation stands out. At the end of the internship, it was possible to reflect on the challenges faced and overcome throughout the school year, recognizing the importance of the theoretical bases acquired in the first year of the master's degree. The experience with the class was enriching, especially with the students who showed interest in learning during the lessons. Overall, the internship contributed to growth as a teacher and as an individual.
