A paisagem humanizada em torno de Briteiros e Sabroso (Guimarães)

Abstract

This dissertation aims to study the evolution of the settlement organization of the middle basin, and part of the upper basin, of the Ave river. This territory includes the hills of São Romão and Côto de Sabroso, on which the ruins of the protohistoric settlements of the Citânia de Briteiros and Castro de Sabroso rest. The reading of the anthropization of this landscape over time, over six millennia, between Prehistory, Protohistory and Romanization, was done through the production of cartographies and the respective inventory of archaeological and architectural remains that we gathered. This work base allowed us to test some hypotheses about the logic of settlement in an analysis of temporal continuity.
