Representación digital del Romanceiro de Almeida Garrett: cuestiones de marcado estructural

Abstract

This study addresses some of the technological procedures regarding the text markup of the digital editing project of the Romanceiro by the Portuguese poet Al-meida Garrett (1799-1854), whose textuality is, in itself, complex. For this, we will look at some of the methodological and practical aspects concerning the digital envi-ronment. At the same time, we will examine the tools and methodologies chosen to develop the Garrettonline project (www.garrettonline.romanceiro.pt). We will bring them together with the specific philological and genetic issues raised by this collec-tion of ballads, which determine a significant part of the digital choices that have been made and which will be described in this article. Thus, we will focus on the conversion of the traditional ecdotic methodologies into digital ecdotics in view of the edition visualization. Furthermore, we will discuss how this impacts the XML-TEI markup procedures that have been adopted as the starting point for the digital rep-resentation of the first modern Iberian Romanceiro.
