Abstract

This work is born from a deep feeling for the city, which had been following me since my childhood; it rises from a personal need to walk-through and live the city and from a will to reconsidered it by feet. In the first part named, La città mobilitata. Dove i comè andiamo?, speaks about the historical path of the city expansion in relation with the transportation system to arrive in the present situation. City problems are discussed between two different points of view, one from the car, another from the feet mobility. This part tries to explain why an urban future based on private vehicles, for now, is not possible and proposes walking as an equal and easy means of transportation for all. The second part, named La città eterogenea. Proposte per il futuro, tries to touch the themes that may have an influence over pea tonal mobility on a big scale. The third part, named La città nelle strade. La vita del perdone, presents the influence that the buildings may have over who walks and moves on the streets of the city. The fourth part, Cartoline da Porto. Analisi impressioniste, wants to be the final moment of a more personal thinking, connected to the impressions and the feelings based on two years living in Porto. My everyday paths are approached with postcards methodology (real images + personal text), re-thinking how it is now and how was it when I first arrived in Porto.
