| Title: | Emergency in a process perspective |
| Issue Date: | 2010 |
| Abstract: | This paper presents a formulation that may be regarded, in a general manner, as a management facilitator in various emergency situations and scenarios. The proposed approach doesn't change the already tested field procedures, on the contrary places itself as an auxiliary tool in decision making through easy and user-friendly reading to the majority of the people. A solution designed upon the perspective of industrial processes is put forward. Thus, a simple representation of the operations sequence and decisions is possible, even in complex situations. This allows command operations to be made easy and facilitated, even under stressful situations, in any kind of emergency scenario. The proposed method targets organizations, which do not have emergency in their core business, but need to be ready to react to events, during the time period between the emergency alert and the arrival of professional help. As an example, a fire emergency response procedure is presented. |
