Pretérito Imperfeito e Pretérito Perfeito do Indicativo: alguns contextos de uso problemáticos para estudantes croatas de português

Abstract

This paper presents an exploratory study, based on written production data, on the learning of the distinction between the Pretérito Perfeito Simples (PPS) and the Pretérito Imperfeito (PI) in European Portuguese (EP) by B2-level learners of Portuguese with Croatian L1. The results point to a possible interference of the L1, specifically with the Perfekt tense, which may correspond to PPS and PI in PE, and to the use of the contrast between perfective/imperfective, with association of duration to imperfective.
