A diversidade de relações cidade-campo: o caso das termas de Longroiva (NE Portugal)

Abstract

With this study of the thermal waters and spa in Longroiva, in the Northeast of Portugal, which were formerly dedicated to medicinal activities and are now directed towards leisure and well-being, we intend to highlight the city-countryside relationships. We adopted a methodology that combines research and analysis of bibliographic, statistical and cartographic documentation with the application of semi-structured interviews to people involved in local development and clients of the spa and thermal baths. The renovation and requalification of these thermal facilities, to which an Eco-Hotel is attached, underpin the revitalization of a rural space that was in decline
