Habitar a Pré-Existência. Projecto de intervenção na Casa da Chela

Abstract

Visiting, observing, drawing, researching and returning to the beginning are some of the starting points on which this proposal is based. The present dissertation "Inhabiting a Pre-existence: Intervention Project in Casa da Chela", seeks first, to study the consolidated house, Casa da Chela (18th century) and subsequently, to intervene in the object of study, more specifically on two volumes in ruins, the Casa da Eira and the Curral. Simultaneously, "Inhabiting a pre-existence" seeks to understand how the intervention can design a new program, the Casa de Férias, on pre-existing bodies. Throughout the text, a set of themes such as Popular Architecture and Ruin were understood as fundamental to bring me closer to the site, it's history and the present circumstance. The incessant relationship between research and project, between reading and drawing , memory and survey, results in a theoretical-practical construction that sets the project process in motion. The different areas of the work field, despite being autonomous, are susceptible to be reconciled since they contribute to the same end, the rehabilitation project. From the context to the materialization of the final proposal, the themes that arise and that are thus studied end up supporting the reflection behind the creative process. The present creation and work culminate in the presentation of an intervention proposal, a Casa de Férias.
