| dc.description.abstract | Microalgae have attracted the attention of several researchers, due to the undeniable potential of these microorganisms in several applications. Microalgae can be used in environmental applications, such as CO<inf>2</inf> capture from the atmosphere or flue gas emissions, and in the removal of nutrients and pollutants from different wastewaters. They can also be used in the energetic sector, as a renewable energy source. Due to their very rich composition in terms of proteins, vitamins, lipids, polyunsaturated fatty acids, and other valuable compounds, microalgae can be used as raw material for several industries, such as food and feed, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics. | |
