HYBRIDIRAKENNUS - Um edifício híbrido para Turku, Finlândia

Abstract

The goal of this study is to develop a set of guiding principles for the design of a hybrid building. The problem and design are response to the proposed redesign of the city of Turku, designated as the 2050 Turku Science Park Masterplan. Framed around the Innovative Strategies in Architectural Design course at the Tampere University of Technology, this study began during the Erasmus period in Finland, following the objectives and methodologies proposed by the course. With the return to FAUP and time distancing from the initial exercise, an attempt was made to gain a deeper understanding and revaluate the theme and the resulting design with new critical lenses. The result led to the proposal of a new interpretation of the exercise to value the importance and role of these urban models for the generating the architecture of tomorrow.
