Fernando Campos: o prestidigitador incorrigível

Abstract

Fernando Campos' work is divided into two large blocks. Living up to the memorialist tendency, be it public or private, the author writes several novels where the family history emerges, directly or symbolically. In historical works, he writes about personalities from the past who have a known public history. The narration oscillates between the first and the third person and the option of the narrator has consequences on the type of focus and on the assumption of the falsity or of the truth. The focus, often internal, because it comes from first-person narrators who do not have omniscient knowledge, allows the relativization of the historical view and the perception of the inexistence of an absolute truth.
