| Title: | Breves reflexões sobre a terminologia sintática na gramaticografia da língua portuguesa (séculos XVI-XVII) |

| Abstract: | In this paper some expressions used by grammarians of the Portuguese language of the 16th and 17th centuries in the syntactic chapters of their grammars are studied from the point of view of grammatical terminology; namely, those that designate the main syntactic functions. For this purpose, the first part of the work presents a methodological framework on which the analysis of the selected syntactic terms is based. In the second part, considering some of the parameters established, the terms that designate the concepts related to the syntactic relations between the clause constituents are studied, trying to show, in the task of the historiographer of linguistics, the importance of understanding and interpretating grammatical terminology. |
| Description: | No artigo são estudadas, do ponto de vista da terminologia gramatical, algumas expressões utilizadas pelos gramáticos da língua portuguesa dos sécu-los XVI e XVII nos capítulos sintáticos das suas gramáticas; nomeadamente, aqueles que designam as funções sintáticas principais. Para tal, é apresentado, na primeira parte do trabalho, um quadro metodológico no qual se fundamenta a análise dos termos sintáticos selecionados. Na segunda parte, são estudados, tendo em conta alguns dos parâmetros estabelecidos para o efeito, os termos que veiculam, nas gramáticas, os conceitos relativos às relações sintáticas entre os constituintes oracionais, tratando de mostrar, para a tarefa do historiógrafo da linguística, a importância da compreensão e da interpretação da terminolo-gia gramatical |
