| Abstract: | This study was inspired by a small drawing created by my father for a holiday house, on a land in the village of Vilar de Veiga, county of Terras de Bouro in Portugal. Starting with this drawing, the search was divided in two realities: the learning process at school and my father experience, builder, for a long time, and several houses, more specifically the one where I lived. From these two different worlds - learning at school and learning from experience - a journey starts across several houses, designed by architects, and considered as examples, and, at the same time, a number of experiences from the day-to-day life, in unknown architectures, where I lived for several years. Parallel to this several memories are included where it is explained how these spaces were lived by the household. The final goal with this study is the thought behind the architecture project for a holiday house, that started with my father's drawing, where several possibilities are exposed, given the chance to explore and reflect about different questions related to the theme of the house and dwelling, the permanent and temporary, following, as much as possible, the first sketch that originated this dissertation |
| Description: | Um modesto desenho realizado pelo meu pai para uma habitação temporária num terreno na freguesia de Vilar de Veiga, município de Terras de Bouro, deu início a este trabalho. A partir do desenho realizado pelo meu pai, deu-se início a um trabalho de pesquisa que procurou trabalhar com duas realidades bem distintas: o processo de aprendizagem na escola e a experiência do meu pai, construtor, de longa data, nomeadamente aquelas onde vivi. A partir desses dois mundos - aprender na escola e aprender pela experiência -percorre-se um conjunto de obras, realizadas por arquitetos, consideradas exemplares pela crítica arquitetónica (dimensão poética da arquitetura) e, simultaneamente, regista-se um conjunto de experiências da vida quotidiana, em obras anónimas e onde vivi durante vários anos. A par desse registo, incluem-se um conjunto de episódios que mostram como os espaços dessas casas eram vividos pela minha família. O objetivo final deste trabalho é repensar o projeto da casa temporária da família, projetada pelo meu pai, a partir do qual se propõe diferentes possibilidades, construindo espaço para a exploração e reflexão sobre várias questões ligadas ao tema da casa e do habitar, do permanente e do temporário, seguindo, o mais possível, o primeiro desenho, realizado pelo pai, que serviu de ponto partida para este estudo. |
