Abstract

In the ambition to find a way of ordering the experiences in which this incessant drift has unfolded around the question what can architecture be, to the extent of the question what can I be, as well as in the naivety of having come to believe that such questions can be answered before being experimented - if you don't know, why do you ask?, João dos Santos questions us - this dissertation incurs in an attempt to intersect three conditions that we believe construct a possibility of approximation to a practicable of architecture - the personal heritage, the geography of being and the architectural criticism. In this way, the work, which is organized in three distances in relation to its evolution - threshold, stanzas and evasion/return - sees its meaning constructed from the stanzas, which are potential containers of the three conditions mentioned. There, from a personal contin(g)ent, which is (de)constructed through symbolic and analogous associations, the work launches itself to the discovery and exploration of the concerns that are raised in this (de)constructive process, always establishing connections and correspondences between those three universes, which, before, seemed so distant from each other, but which end up revealing what lies between them - which is, also, what lies between us.
