| Abstract: | Sensory-visual ethnography is the great contribution to building the thought that says São Paulo is the new Tower of Babel of the 21st century, due to its dynamic potentialities and here vectored by the K-pop culture that is transversal to the multiplicity of geographic spaces.. Thus, this essay focuses on the translocal appropriations of K-pop - notably in São Paulo - demonstrating how such a manifestation of youth culture goes hand in hand with the assumption of São Paulo as the new Tower of Babel of the 21st century. K-pop, as a (sub) musical genre, can be interpreted as a transnational artistic production which, in turn, has as its main objective the involvement of audiences, at different levels of global imagination. K-pop is also a media, cultural and social phenomenon. K-pop is much more than a musical genre demarcated by a geographical context. |
| Description: | A etnografia sensorial-visual é o grande aporte para edificação do pensamento que diz ser São Paulo a nova Torre de Babel do século XXI, decorrente de suas potencialidades dinamizadas e aqui vetorizada pela cultura do K-pop que se apresenta transversal à multiplicidade dos espaços geográficos. Assim, este ensaio foca-se nas apropriações translocais do K-pop - notadamente em São Paulo - demonstrando como tal manifestação da cultura juvenil vai de par com a assunção de São Paulo como a nova Torre de Babel do século XXI. O K-pop, enquanto (sub)género musical, pode ser interpretado como sendo uma produção artística transnacional que, por sua vez, tem como principal objetivo o envolvimento dos públicos, em diferentes níveis de imaginação global. O K-pop também se assume como um fenómeno mediático, cultural e social. O K-pop é muito mais do que um género musical demarcado por um contexto geográfico. |
