O ponto de partida para o início de uma carreira de sonho, a Docência

Abstract

This report is part of the curricular unit Professional Internship, related to the 2nd year of the Master's Degree in Physical Education Teaching in Primary and Secondary Education. This professional internship was carried out in a secondary school in the municipality of Maia, in the academic year 2020/2021, aiming to obtain a Master's degree from the Faculty of Sport of the University of Porto (FADEUP). This report reflects the whole process lived by the student trainee throughout this atypical school year, sharing his fruitful experiences, describing and substantiating the strategies used and explaining the learning achieved throughout the year. The professional internship was carried out in a secondary school in the municipality of Maia with the guidance of the Cooperating Teacher (CP), who belongs to the entity that receives us, and the Guidance Teacher (PO), a teacher from the faculty, who interacts and communicates directly with the entity with which the protocol is established. This report is divided into five chapters. In the first chapter, the introduction, a brief summary of the document is made in order to contextualise the various stages that compose it. The second chapter concerns the personal background, with the exposition of my experiences, both in sporting and academic terms. The following chapter, the third, focuses on the context of professional practice, characterising the environment, the school, the facilities, the teaching and non-teaching staff. The fourth chapter, which refers to the professional practice, is divided into three distinct areas: the organisation and management of teaching and learning, school participation and community relations, and professional development. In this last section the action-research study is presented, under the theme "functional training". To conclude this report, the last chapter describes the main difficulties experienced and the achievements during this training process.
