Abstract

The Church of the Convent of San Francis of Bragança is the object of the current study. The Franciscan Church was founded in the 13th century - embryonic period in the life of the Order of San Francis, the kingdom of Portugal, and of Bragança. Thus, the dissertation seeks to value the Church of San Francis of Bragança as a historical and architectural object bearing an extensive narrative. The study interprets the Church of the Convent of San Francis of Bragança as an integral part of a series of extensive entities; the Church of San Francis of Bragança is analyzed as an inseparable part of the history and architecture of: Portugal; Order of San Francis; Iberian Peninsula; portuguese region of Trás-os-Montes; city of Bragança. The study is born from dissecting historical intersections between said entities and the way they are reflected in the historic and architectural narrative of the Church of San Francis of Bragança
