| Abstract: | Throughout the Middle Ages there was a gradual strengthening of institutions of a more centralist nature (as in the case of the Monarchies and the Church), a phenomenon which was detected from the middle 11th century and developed at different rates in the various kingdoms. The thematic dossier aims to be part of the historiography dedicated to the Royal Power, in its various expressions and extensions. The present text includes a brief presentation of studies that aim to contribute to a better understanding of the history of power(s) in Portugal. |
| Description: | Ao longo da Idade Média assiste-se a um gradual reforço das instituições de cunho mais centralista (como é o caso das Monarquias e da Igreja), fenómeno que se deteta a partir de meados do século XI e que se desenvolve em ritmos diferenciados nos vários reinos. O dossier temático pretende inserir-se na historiografia dedicada ao Poder régio, nas suas diversas expressões e extensões. O presente texto inclui uma breve apresentação de estudos que pretendem contribuir para um melhor conhecimento da historia do(s) poder(es) em Portugal. |
