Vergílio Ferreira : em nome de Flora

Abstract

Vergílio Ferreira is an author whose work displays the presence of ancient culture, notreally as a simple influence, but above all as an attitude of reply to the problems which arise in the present world. We need merely see the signals of the presence of the Tusculanae in his work. This article focuses on the novel Em Nome da Terra. In relation to Antiquity, Vergílio Ferreira does not show himself to be a follower, but as someone who responds to the interpolations which this culture puts to us in the present day.
