Traduction et créativité : d'un cadre conceptuel à la pratique

Abstract

In this article, we aim to reflect on the notion of creativity, long time excluded from translation theory. This notion, which is difficult to define, also refers to the role of the translator (an author but not the Author), and to his work (work but not the Work). How to characterize creativity? How to identify it in a literary translation? Starting from some proposals for refining the terminology and the conceptual framework of the notion of creation in literary translation, we will try to illustrate it by means of examples taken from the translation into Portuguese of La carte et le territoire of Michel Houellebecq, from Pedro Tamen. - FR: Dans cet article, nous avons pour objectif de réfléchir à la notion de créativité, longtemps écartée de la théorie de la traduction. Cette notion, difficile de cerner, renvoie également au rôle du traducteur (auteur, mais pas l'Auteur) et de son œuvre (œuvre, mais pas l'Œuvre). Comment caractériser la créativité ? Comment l'identifier dans une traduction littéraire ? En partant de quelques propositions d'affinement de la terminologie et du cadre conceptuel de la notion de création en traduction littéraire, nous essayerons de l'illustrer par le biais d'exemples tirés de la traduction en portugais de l'œuvre La carte et le territoire de Michel Houellebecq, de la plume de Pedro Tamen
