Abstract

This document tells the adventure of a trainee - teacher (the author) to become a teacher, through the analogy of Luna, a cow with wings that wanted to fly and meet the Azorean Islands. It tells the transition from trainee-student to teacher, during a professional internship. This is a reflection about what school and the subject of Physical Education are for a better understanding of the importance of a professional internship. The internship happened in a Secondary School, specifically I worked with 7th grade students. Entering in this school was a return into a space that I already knew as a student, having felt, immediately positive feelings and memories. Indeed, it was in the same school I've had the first believes associated to Physical Education, as well as the important decision of becoming a teacher. This school is a small world because, even though it's a small physical space, in fact, it embraces an infinitive cosmos of different realities and abilities. In each school there are indecipherable and complex human beings with real universes to explore. In my practice I faced the reality and I've had the opportunity to teach and learn so much, with the cooperation of all the members of that educational community. Each one helped me to fulfil my professional dream and goal. The reality of the teaching-learning process is narrated, as well as the difficulties which were felt when planning classes, intervention, and evaluation of the students. My involvement in the Annual Plan of Activities, namely in the Sports Club activities, being a full-time teacher and being involved in the organization of the "Goalball Tournament", made me aware for the fact that being a teacher is much more than just teach classes. In this document there is also a case study: the physical activity and the psychological well - being of 7th grade students in an Azorean school. The presentation of this document finishes with some final thoughts about pedagogical learnings acquired during the past school year. Furthermore, in this document there are written some of my personal expectations for the future in terms of the job market.
